GDPR Cloud
Applying GDPR requirements specifically to cloud environments, ensuring personal data in cloud services meets obligations for lawful processing, data residency, transfers, breach notification, and shared responsibility with the provider.
Using the cloud to process EU personal data raises GDPR-specific questions: where data physically resides, whether transfers outside the EU use approved mechanisms, how the shared-responsibility split assigns obligations, and how breach notification works when a provider is involved. GDPR Cloud is the practice of meeting these requirements in cloud settings, choosing compliant regions and providers, configuring controls, and documenting the data processing relationship.
Introduced in: Cloud Compliance and Frameworks
Examples

- Ensuring a provider transfer mechanism satisfies GDPR for data leaving the EU.
