IAM Architecture

The overall design of an organization's identity and access management, how identities, authentication, authorization, directories, and access controls fit together across systems, so access is secure, consistent, and manageable at scale.

IAM architecture is the blueprint for managing identity and access: where identities live and sync, how authentication and single sign-on work, how authorization and entitlements are structured, and how on-prem and cloud tie together. A sound architecture makes access secure and consistent while remaining operable as the organization grows. It is the foundation an IAM engineer designs and builds upon, shaping everything from provisioning to threat detection.
