Continuous Risk Management
Treating risk management as an ongoing, living process rather than a periodic exercise, continuously identifying, assessing, treating, and monitoring risks as the environment and threats change, so the risk picture stays current.
Risks are not static, and an annual risk assessment is stale within months. Continuous risk management embeds the risk lifecycle into ongoing operations: new risks are identified as they emerge, assessments are updated as conditions change, treatments are tracked, and monitoring feeds the loop. It keeps risk decisions based on current reality and is a hallmark of a mature risk program aligned with frameworks like ISO 31000.
