DE-SOC Interface
The working relationship between detection engineering and the SOC, where the SOC operates and gives feedback on detections, and detection engineers use that feedback, false positives, missed threats, tuning needs, to improve them.
Detection engineering builds detections, but the SOC lives with them, so a healthy interface is a feedback loop: analysts report noisy or unhelpful alerts and gaps they hit during triage, and DE tunes, retires, or builds detections in response. Defining this interface, how feedback is captured and prioritized, keeps detections aligned with operational reality rather than drifting into noise the SOC learns to ignore.
