Framework Roadmap

A phased plan for adopting and maturing security frameworks over time, sequencing which frameworks to implement, in what order, and toward what milestones, so framework adoption is deliberate rather than reactive or overwhelming.

Adopting frameworks all at once is impractical, so a framework roadmap sequences the journey: perhaps starting with prescriptive controls for quick risk reduction, then pursuing a certification customers demand, then maturing toward a broader reference framework, with clear milestones. It aligns framework work to business priorities and capacity, helps avoid anti-patterns, and gives leadership a credible path rather than a scramble. It complements selection and mapping with timing.

Examples

  • Sequencing CIS Controls first, then ISO 27001 certification next year.
  • Phasing framework adoption against business priorities and capacity.
  • Setting milestones for maturing the framework program over time.
