Process Evidence

Evidence that a security or compliance process actually ran, sign-offs, ticket records, meeting minutes, demonstrating to auditors that defined processes are followed in practice rather than only documented.

Process evidence proves a process operated: records that an approval was made, that a review meeting happened, that a step in a workflow was completed and signed off. In cloud compliance and audit, it complements technical evidence (logs, configs) by showing the human and procedural side of controls. Capturing process evidence consistently, often through ticketing and workflow systems, is what lets auditors see that controls live in operations and not just on paper.

Introduced in: Cloud Compliance and Frameworks

Examples

  • Showing ticket records that an access change went through review.
  • Providing meeting minutes that document a quarterly risk review.
  • Producing sign-offs proving a process step was performed.
