Architecture Review Framework

A structured approach for assessing the security of a system's design, defining how reviews are scoped, what areas to examine, how findings are documented and prioritized, and how remediation is verified, so reviews are thorough and repeatable.

A framework keeps architecture reviews from depending on a single reviewer's intuition by giving consistent steps and coverage. It connects the early scoping and kickoff with later finding management and follow-up, making the whole engagement defensible and comparable across systems.

Examples

  • Following a defined set of review areas so no major design domain is skipped.
  • Using a consistent template to document and rate each finding.
  • Tying the review to a remediation-verification step at the end.
