BC/DR Applied
Putting business continuity and disaster recovery into practice within a real security program: producing the plans, recovery objectives, and tested procedures rather than treating BC/DR as a theoretical document.
In a capstone or program context, BC/DR applied means translating principles into concrete artifacts, a continuity plan, recovery objectives tied to a business impact analysis, and evidence of testing, that fit alongside the risk register, policies, and other program elements. The emphasis is on operational, demonstrable readiness.
Introduced in: GRC Capstone: Building a Security Program
Examples
- Documenting recovery objectives and procedures for the organization's key systems.
- Linking the BC/DR plan to risks recorded in the risk register.
- Producing test evidence showing the recovery plan was exercised.
