CIAM Consent Management
Capturing, recording, and honoring customers' choices about how their personal data is collected and used, in a customer identity system. It is essential for privacy compliance and for maintaining customer trust.
Privacy laws require organizations to obtain and respect consent, so CIAM platforms record what each customer agreed to, let them change it, and enforce those choices across systems. Done well, consent management satisfies regulations like GDPR and gives customers genuine control over their data.
Introduced in: Customer Identity and Access Management
Examples
- Recording a customer's opt-in for marketing and honoring it across systems.
