CIAM Fraud Integration

Connecting a customer identity platform with fraud-detection signals and systems so that risk, device intelligence, behavior, and reputation, can shape authentication and account decisions in real time, blocking abuse without burdening legitimate customers.

CIAM sits at the front line of fraud: account takeover, fake accounts, and payment abuse all flow through identity. Integrating fraud signals lets the platform make risk-based decisions, stepping up authentication when signals are suspicious and staying invisible when they are not. This tight loop between identity and fraud is far more important in CIAM than in workforce IAM, where users are already trusted.

Introduced in: Customer Identity and Access Management

Examples

  • Triggering a step-up challenge only when device and behavior signals look risky.
  • Feeding login risk scores into the platform's authentication decision.
  • Blocking an account-takeover attempt flagged by integrated fraud signals.
