IAM Risk Prioritization

IAM risk prioritization orders identity weaknesses by likely misuse, privilege, exposure, affected assets, evidence, and the speed and safety of containment.

Departed privileged access and uncontrolled authentication paths normally outrank cosmetic account hygiene, but the organization should record its assumptions and validate business dependencies before irreversible action.

Introduced in: IAM Capstone: Building an Identity Program

Examples

  • Contain a departed administrator before tuning a low-risk review
  • Prioritize a public authentication bypass over a naming inconsistency
