Runtime Security Monitoring

Continuously monitoring running workloads for malicious behavior in DevSecOps practice, integrating runtime telemetry with build-time security so the secure SDLC covers what happens after deployment.

From a DevSecOps and secure-SDLC perspective, runtime security monitoring closes the loop: build-time scans catch issues before deployment, but only runtime monitoring catches what actually happens when code runs. It feeds telemetry back to inform detections, scanners, and pipeline policy, integrating runtime findings with development practices so issues found in production drive improvements upstream. It frames runtime security as part of an ongoing development-and-operation loop, not a separate concern.

Introduced in: DevSecOps and Secure SDLC

Examples

  • Feeding runtime alerts back into pipeline policy and scanning.
  • Monitoring deployed services so SDLC coverage extends past release.
  • Integrating runtime telemetry with detections in the secure SDLC.
