Monte Carlo Risk Analysis

Using Monte Carlo simulation to combine probability distributions of risk inputs (frequencies, impacts) into a distribution of probable losses, giving a richer view of risk than single-point estimates.

Monte Carlo Simulation

A computational technique that runs many randomized trials from input probability distributions to estimate the distribution of an outcome. In FAIR, it combines factor estimates into a quantified loss distribution.

The objective or incentive influencing an actor's behavior, such as financial gain, espionage, disruption, ideology, coercion, competition, or personal grievance.

Multi-Account Strategy

Rather than running everything in one cloud account, a multi-account strategy splits workloads across many, by environment, business unit, or sensitivity, so each is isolated. This contains blast radius, supports clean billing and governance boundaries, and lets policy be enforced per account. Designing the structure (organization units, baseline guardrails, shared services accounts) is a foundational cloud-architecture decision, often realized through landing zones, and central to large-scale cloud security.
