Multi-Framework Control Mapping

Mapping the organization's controls to several frameworks at once so each control's evidence can be claimed against every framework it satisfies, the practical core of running multi-framework compliance.

Multi-framework control mapping links the organization's implemented controls to the requirements of each framework it must meet, so a single control can be evidenced once and claimed against many frameworks at the same time. As a capstone program-building activity, it requires precise, maintained mappings and a shared evidence repository, but the payoff is large: dramatically reduced duplication and audit effort. It is what makes a multi-framework program scalable in practice.

Introduced in: GRC Capstone: Building a Security Program

Examples

  • Linking one access-control implementation to its mappings under several frameworks.
  • Evidencing one control once and claiming it across SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HITRUST.
  • Maintaining a current control-to-framework map across the program.
